It’s been great to witness local businesses recently investing in the Town during such an unnerving period of time as we have all lived through. The new seating areas look lovely and place customers right outside our businesses.   This affords us all a perfect opportunity to remember that businesses are still here and ready to welcome everyone back!

We have had a significant amount of communication with local business and also with the general public who are clearly delighted to be able to get back into the centre of Town and feedback has been very positive.
Understandably, there have been safety concerns raised regarding Leys Avenue and the potential for accidents involving vehicles and the pedestrians crossing the road to the seating areas. We are liaising with both Herts Highways, Hertfordshire Police & NHDC whilst continuing to support businesses as much as possible.  Our main priority must remain everyone’s health and safety and we will send out updates as soon as we receive new information.

April 2021:
A Re-Opening Message From Our Town Centre Manager Chris Wilson;

This is an important time to help support our Town Centre.

“Coronavirus has shown people the importance and the connection between shopping local and helping to support the local area.
Many of our businesses have been a real lifeline for our community throughout the pandemic, so now we need to do our bit to ensure our shops and independent businesses can recover from this challenging time.

Our independent businesses work really hard because they genuinely love what they do. The customer service that they offer and the way they run their businesses is done with a lot of heart, something you won’t find online!

Our traders need your support now more than ever so please pay them a visit – it will be appreciated, I would encourage everyone to find out what is available on our doorstep and Shop Local, Shop Letchworth.”
